Cairn Valley Community Transport

CVCT is a not for profit organisation run by volunteers, and a charity registered with the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). 

CVCT was founded in 2003. It grew out of Glencairn Community Transport, started in 2001 using a borrowed bus. The organisation subsequently became CVCT when it was able to buy its own bus. The current bus is our second vehicle.

The change of name to Cairn Valley Community Transport reflected the inclusion of Dunscore, as well as Glencairn, in the area served. In 2019 we further expanded our area of benefit to include Tynron. 

We run day trips throughout the year to places of interest in southern Scotland and northern England.

We also run a scheduled bus service from Moniaive and Dunscore to Castle Douglas and a hire service for affiliated community groups
